Final Monologue piece

Derek Hare is African American man with three children (2 sons and 1 daughter) he lives in Brooklyn,New York and is a IT sales executive. This interview takes place when my father is eating dinner and watching basketball. The date is May 26th 2013.

When I was about eighteen or nineteen my grandmother was real ill.
Everybody in the family was looking to me to talk to the doctors, to understand
what was going on and how things would be.  I think that,  it felt good ,that they
understood that I knew a lot about medicine at the time, since I was pre-med in
College. I was able to contribute and give some comfort ,by talking to the doctors and
translating to them, so they could understand what was going on.

My biggest personality change and emotinal feelings I felt while
growing , was when my older brother went to college and I was
home with my mother. I had to go to high school for the fist time, or any
school for that matter as a single person, and not have any one look after me.
It was me on my own, trying to find out who I was and identified more as a
person, more than Troy's little brother.

The worst was when my grandmother past away, I saw that everybody is gonna
have to go through this, I was worried about my nephews, who would one day
see my mom ,their grandmother have to past away. It gives me a good and a bad memory,
because once you get through that you realize that everything is going to fall in place. Everybody is going to go through it, and its a matter of being ready for it.
